SBI Wealth 2026 - 207 Specialist Roles, with 79% of Hiring in VP/AVP Relationship Management
SBI's 207-seat Wealth Management drive is mostly relationship-management hiring: VP Wealth (91) and AVP Wealth (73) together make up 164 seats, or about 79.2% of the total. The academic bar is often only graduation, but the real filter is 3–15 years of role-specific wealth/sales/investment experience. Published CTCs run as high as ₹97 lakh, but include fixed pay, allowances and performance-linked components rather than representing guaranteed fixed salary. Registration has been officially extended to 5 October 2026.

About this Recruitment
Recruitment-specific overview from the published record.
The useful way to read SBI's 207-post Wealth notification is not '207 banking jobs'. It is a layered experienced-hire portfolio. Nearly four out of every five vacancies sit in the two client-facing Relationship Manager ladders: 91 VP Wealth and 73 AVP Wealth posts. The remaining 43 seats are spread across team leadership, regional/zonal leadership and investment specialist roles. That structure tells an applicant more than the headline number: this recruitment is primarily about building and supervising affluent/HNI client books, not filling general banking desks.
The eligibility pattern is equally important. For VP/AVP, Regional Head, Team Lead and Zonal Head, a graduate degree can be enough academically, but it is not enough professionally. SBI progressively raises the experience bar from roughly three years for AVP Wealth to six for VP Wealth, eight for RM-Team Lead, twelve for Regional Head and fifteen for Zonal Head. Investment Specialist and Investment Officer form a different track, asking for specified finance/investment postgraduate education or CA/CFA alternatives plus domain experience. In practice, the advert separates relationship-management careers from investment-product careers even though both sit under the same Wealth umbrella.
The reservation arithmetic has also been independently reconciled from SBI's post table: SC 39 + ST 28 + OBC(NCL) 67 + EWS 11 + UR 62 = 207. Several reserved totals contain backlog seats, so treating every number as a fresh current-year vacancy would be misleading. The VP Wealth role alone contains 91 seats; its official age band is 26–42 years, while AVP Wealth is 23–35. These role-specific ranges matter because collapsing all Wealth posts into one age range produces wrong eligibility advice.
Compensation needs similar context. SBI publishes negotiable CTC ceilings from about ₹27.1 lakh for Investment Officer to ₹97 lakh for Zonal Head. Those numbers mix fixed pay, allowances and performance-linked pay. For example, Zonal Head shows about ₹66 lakh fixed pay before the performance component, while VP Wealth shows about ₹30 lakh fixed within a ₹44.7 lakh headline CTC. A candidate comparing offers should therefore compare fixed cash, variable-pay rules and posting—not just the largest CTC number.
Location choice is not a permanent-location promise. For five of the wealth roles SBI asks candidates to give three different circle preferences and does not allow the same circle to be repeated. The bank also retains transferability. Zonal/Regional leadership roles have indicated geographies, but operational need can still govern placement.
Selection is profile-driven: SBI shortlists first, then uses personal/video interview and CTC negotiation. There is no mass written-test merit ladder in this advertisement. That makes the quality and relevance of the candidate's actual wealth book, team scale, sales leadership, investment-product exposure and interview evidence more important than simply meeting the minimum degree condition. The application deadline was officially extended to 5 October 2026, so older pages showing 25 September are stale.

1 vacanciesZonal Head (Retail)
Qualification: The degree is only the entry ticket. SBI is looking for a senior wealth-sales leader: a graduate with roughly 15 years in sales management across wealth/retail banking/asset management, including about 5 years leading a large RM/Team-Lead setup. An MBA or professional wealth certification strengthens the profile but does not replace the leadership history.Age: 35–50 yearsPay: Up to ₹97,00,000 / year
Zonal Head (Retail)
The degree is only the entry ticket. SBI is looking for a senior wealth-sales leader: a graduate with roughly 15 years in sales management across wealth/retail banking/asset management, including about 5 years leading a large RM/Team-Lead setup. An MBA or professional wealth certification strengthens the profile but does not replace the leadership history.
Details: About 15 years in relevant sales management, including around 5 years leading a large Relationship Manager/Team Lead structure. · Required: Yes · Minimum Years: 15
Description: This lone vacancy is OBC(NCL); the candidate must satisfy the applicable OBC-NCL certificate/eligibility conditions in the advertisement.
This is a one-seat senior leadership search, not a broad banking vacancy. The OBC-only seat, 15-year experience bar and large-team leadership requirement make prior wealth/retail sales leadership far more decisive than the generic graduation condition.
Lead a large wealth-management sales structure, drive business growth, monitor relationship teams and execute SBI's affluent/HNI strategy across the assigned zone.
- Do not read ₹97 lakh as fixed salary: SBI's published package combines fixed pay, allowances and performance-linked pay.
- Suggested Kolkata/East Zone placement does not remove SBI's transferability clause.
OBC(NCL)-01. There is no UR seat for this post.
5 vacanciesRegional Head
Qualification: Graduate applicants need around 12 years of relevant relationship-management/wealth experience, with roughly five years in a substantial team-leadership role. The job is aimed at established wealth leaders rather than general branch bankers.Age: 35–50 yearsPay: Up to ₹66,40,000 / year
Regional Head
Graduate applicants need around 12 years of relevant relationship-management/wealth experience, with roughly five years in a substantial team-leadership role. The job is aimed at established wealth leaders rather than general branch bankers.

Description: Reservation includes SC-1, ST-1, OBC(NCL)-1 and UR-2; one OBC seat is identified as backlog in SBI's vacancy table.
Five senior regional leadership seats; the real comparison point is leadership depth, not merely possession of a graduate degree.
Own regional wealth business performance and supervise relationship-management teams across the allotted geography.
- Location shown by SBI is suggestive; appointment remains transferable under bank requirements.
SC-01, ST-01, OBC(NCL)-01 and UR-02 = 5; SBI identifies backlog within the OBC component.
24 vacanciesRelationship Manager - Team Lead
Qualification: Graduation is mandatory, but the commercially meaningful filter is about eight years of relationship-management experience, preferably in wealth management. Prior team-lead exposure is desirable because the role sits above individual RM execution.Age: 28–42 yearsPay: Up to ₹51,80,000 / year
Relationship Manager - Team Lead
Graduation is mandatory, but the commercially meaningful filter is about eight years of relationship-management experience, preferably in wealth management. Prior team-lead exposure is desirable because the role sits above individual RM execution.
Details: Around 8 years of relevant relationship-management experience, preferably in wealth management; team-leading exposure is advantageous. · Required: Yes · Minimum Years: 8
Description: Category-wise vacancies are SC-3, ST-1, OBC(NCL)-5, EWS-2 and UR-13; SBI's table includes backlog within the OBC total.
At 24 seats, this is meaningful hiring but still selective: applicants need an established RM track record, and SBI requires three different circle preferences rather than allowing one location to be repeated.
Lead and coach Relationship Managers, grow assigned wealth books and maintain HNI client-service and business standards.
- Enter three different circle preferences; repeating the same circle is not permitted.
- Circle preference cannot be casually treated as a permanent posting guarantee.
